I must confess that in my early stages of learning this message, I caught myself asking questions within my church and other places that had the effect of being a ‘spiritual smart-aleck.’ I was enjoying seeing people squirm when they didn’t have answers. And another side to that, I also found myself condemning others and their different faiths for not knowing what I knew.

But as time went on I realized that this was the same spirit revealed within the Bible story found in Acts 7 about the stoning of Stephen. As the story goes there was a very strong headed person name Saul that was into destroying the church and anyone that didn’t see things his way.

For you see, there is nothing new under the sun. It’s simply amazing how we so-called spiritual people can slip into a superior attitude of thinking we have the special keys to Heaven and are ready to put down anyone that doesn’t conform to our ideas.

What I had to come to grips with was the fact that we have all come from different walks of life and are at different stages of growth – and this is within God’s plan to help us understand how to love our neighbor as ourselves. For you see, that neighbor on the other side of the fence – more than likely, is at a different stage and has a different belief than you do.

So may we have compassion for one another – because others don’t care what we know if we don’t first reveal how much we care.

So would it be OK if we could put aside our stuffy church doctrines to talk only about the kind of person God is and why He came to this earth? Isn’t that the conclusion the apostle Paul came to? You know, the people where arguing over all kinds of insignificant things - when he decided to talk only about Christ and Him crucified.

So for years now, I’ve begun my Bible class by stating that this class is all about God – the kind of person a loving God has to be.

The reason I say that is because there are many hair splitting insignificant things to be argued about within the Bible that really have nothing to do with our salvation.

So with that in mind, would it be OK if I put your attention on the ways of ‘God the Father’ that Jesus came to reveal?

So visualize Jesus as the ambassador of Heaven sent by the Father to reveal His true character, therefore putting to rest Satan’s lies that God the Father is vengeful, unforgiving, and severe. You will discover that it is Satan’s lie that says the Father demands a blood sacrifice before He would grant forgiveness.

This thought alone should stimulate an interest for digging deeper. So may you all enjoy your journey searching for more hidden treasure.
